Analytics Explained

At the top of both the Gift Cards and Store Credit dashboards, Govalo displays some data for you to keep track directly in the app. While this is a simplified way of reporting, you can easily view things like the volume of gift cards you have processed through Govalo, and have an idea of how much that is generating in terms of new orders in your store.

Total gift card value vs. redeemed

This portion, presented in the form of a progress bar, represents a comparison between the total value of gift cards issued and the total value out of that amount that was redeemed. The number of the top shows the amount redeemed, while the number of the bottom shows the total gift card value.

Gift cards issued

The total amount, i.e. units, of gift cards issued through Govalo for your store from the beginning. It also shows how many cards were issued within the present week.

Revenue from gift cards

The total value of orders in which a redeemed gift card was used. The value displayed is a sum of the total value of these orders, including shipping and taxes, with no decimal places, round up.

For example, if you have the following orders this week, in which a gift card of any value was used:

• Order 1: $10 item + $3 shipping + $0.78 tax = $13.78 ($2 gift card, so the recipient paid $11.78)
• Order 1: $10 item + $3 shipping + $0.78 tax = $13.78 ($5 gift card, so the recipient paid $8.78)

The sum of the two orders is $27.56, therefore the card will display "+$28 this week", and this value will be added to the total revenue from gift cards.

Average order value

The average value of orders in which a redeemed gift card was used.

Using the same example as in the previous item, having 2 orders with a summed amount of $28 within the week will display "+$14 this week" for the average order value.

Value of gift cards

The total value of gift cards issued through Govalo. This accounts for gift cards purchased through checkout, as well as cards issued manually through Govalo's dashboard. It also displays the sum of the values of gift cards issued within the week.
